Opera gets magical!

The Bel Homme Quartet saga continues in Book #2 with this mystical standalone story…

British member Jamie Stratton joined the world famous pop-opera singing group called “Bel Homme” for one reason only: money. It’s a year later now, and he’s rolling in it. But Jamie also possesses a spiritual side he can’t deny. He was raised by his gran at the most legendary place on earth: Stonehenge. She manages the gift shop there, and Jamie grew up in the flat over the store. His grandmother is an eccentric old bird who reads her Tarot cards and predicts true love is coming into Jamie’s life.

Jessica Evans is an American psychic medium from Illinois who’s always believed in astral protection—but then she’s assaulted by a man who does devastating harm to her family. While she lies near death in a coma, she dreams of a stranger who is her destiny. When she finally wakes up and needs a safe place to heal, a hometown tie to the American member of Bel Homme gives her access to the group’s secure compound in Royal Tunbridge Wells, England.

That’s when Fate steps in and brings Jamie and Jessie together. But in the midst of their timeless romance, Jamie must deal with a crisis involving his grandmother while Jessie is once again confronted by her brutal attacker—and Jamie is the only one who can save her.

Love or money: which would you choose? It’s Jamie’s turn to decide.

His first sight of her was her luscious bottom staring him in the face. Her knickers had ridden up on her round left cheek, exposing a mole that blinded him like a sunburst. He grabbed the doorjamb as his eyesight dimmed and wavered, mimicking the onset of an instant migraine. Everything narrowed down to that tiny spot on her arse, and he thought he might black out from the vision of the thing. It was a sexy floater in his eye, and he waited for the lights to come bursting out its center and the sharp pain to shoot through his cranium. “Fucking hell,” he heaved out. At the sound of his voice, the blonde spun around, gasped, then shrieked when she started to fall off the step stool. Flinging his bag away, Jamie lunged and caught her around her hips.

Don’t touch me!” she screamed, then lifted the frying pan and smacked him soundly on top of his head.

Ugh. Holy shit,” he bit out while they both went tumbling to the floor. He hit the hard surface first, blocking her fall but not his own. He clutched her to him, his nose now pressed between her plump breasts, which were swaying freely without a bra on under her thin cami-top. His glasses lay crooked on his nose as he opened an eye and stared into one of her erect nipples. “What in bloody hell are you doing?” he asked into it, still holding on to her for dear life.

Let go of me,” she yelled and rapped him in the head again.

Oh, Gawd,” Jamie moaned out. He released her and watched two of her crab-crawl away until her back slammed up against the cupboard. “Are you bloomin’ bonkers?” he got out, sliding back himself until he butted up against the opposite wall. There was a major roll of real pain shooting through his skull now.

Sitting across from each other, they gasped for air, their spastic breathing mingling in the space between them.

Jamie stopped rubbing his head and blinked her face into focus.

She loosened her grip on the frying pan as she studied his.

It’s you,” they said together.

My First Romance Novel

The first romance novel I ever read was A Knight In Shining Armor by Jude Devereaux. I remember my friend, Robin, calling me and saying “You have to read this book.” She wasn’t an easy sell, and she’d never read a romance before, either, so I figured I should give it a try. Well…wow. Time-travel, a moody/endearing hero, a spunky heroine with a broken heart, and many twists and turns is the perfect formula to get me hooked.

I never looked back.

A well-written book in the romance genre—and any sub-genre it may include—is the best type of book of all. Prickly sorts who look down their noses at them don’t deserve our time and effort to debate with them what they’re missing.

Other authors who carried me on my reading journey back then were Sandra Brown, (I really wish she hadn’t abandoned mainstream romance for romantic suspense.) Sharon & Tom Curtis, LaVyrle Spencer, Sandra Canfield, and Judith McNaught. They were great writers.

My personal opinion is that women who read romance are special people who are passionate, smart, witty, sensual, and naturally sexy. They may be outgoing or shy, but they’re always involved with life and possess a vibrancy in their nature that keeps them young and relevant.

Romance readers are a curious breed, too, so I imagine most of us will read just about anything outside romance as well. We’re not snobs like those who only go for academic works, who will never know what they’re missing. Those of us who love romantic stories, however, are nosy folks who don’t want to miss anything!

I’ll always be grateful to Jude Devereaux’s Nicholas Stafford for being my first.
