This is book #2, in the Texas Heat series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading these in order intended by the author.
Hannah returns to her hometown in this story about the holidays and second chances. She has to meet up with an Ex-fiance' and others who watched her grow up. It is a little bit of eating humble pie, and a lot of resisting the charms of the only man she has ever loved.
Roarke wants the woman he loves back. Theirs is a story that puts the word complicated to shame. She thinks he cheated on him, and he was only a victim of someone else's plot. Can he win her back on the merits of the fact they know one another like no other?
This story was challenging and pulls on the heart strings. Seeing a couple still so much in love be apart and still get through the day is hard. Told in a way that it just makes you appreciate romance books - this is a book that will take your heart and help it fly. I found the characters to be deep and compelling and I cannot wait for another installment of this series. I give this read a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
