This is the story of Grayson Ford and Emma Kingsley. Since they were kids, and now Emma wants more. Finally, she thinks Gray does too.
Gray is involved in every sport and Emma is in the arts. No one would ever think they belong together. No one but Emma. Then Gray suddenly shows interest.
Gray is her brothers best friend, and if she is honest - hers too. Emma just wants a chance for him to notice her. When he takes her to a school dance, she is warned off by his coach and they leave. At his house, however, they encounter his horrible father. The reason he keeps everyone away. He was not supposed to be him and it is an awful surprise.
After that, Gray avoids her and Emma thinks all her chances with him are gone. She fights for him and for another chance. When they decide against all odds to spend some time together, it goes really well. Even if there is a secret he is hiding.
Later on, Gray goes into the military and we see a bit of present day in the book too. We find out where Emma is working as time goes on and how she reacts to news of Gray and his unit.
This story had me on the edge of my seat and I loved every minute. I cannot wait to read more since this is only book 1 in the Only series. Totally give it 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
